What Could You Do With a Book?

I love books. I gobble them up, stick them on my bookshelf and read them again a few years later. Or a few months later, you know, sometimes.

I think that with books, most people, myself included, don’t really think of doing anything with books other than reading them.

So: What could YOU do with a book?

Write down everything. It’s an imaginary book or a book that you somehow received seven copies of for Christmas one year, so you don’t need to worry about defacing it.

Set an alarm and give yourself a certain amount of time to do it or come up with multiple ideas  throughout the day. If you set an alarm, pause afterwards and set another alarm so that you can think through it some more. See what new things you can come up with.

I don’t have a LOT of ideas, but these were some of mine (scroll over them to see them):

  • Read it. (I know. Duh!)
  • Use the pages to wash windows
  • Bookends
  • Highlight them to learn how the author does what he/she does
  • Cut out part of the middle to hide a flask or money or something else (got something like that for my bridesmaids)
  • Makeshift bookshelves

What did you come up with?

  1. Hi Robin–I thought about this today. If it’s an old book you could use it for SCRIBBLE OUT Poetry. You scribble out all the words you don’t want and leave those that tell a story.

  2. Robin says:

    Ooh! That’s a good one!
